Paul, is that something I need to know when I order an aluminum radiator for my 72?
Yes. Pretty much the question on any Bronco radiator from anyone is "which mounts to they fit with?" or alternately, "do I have to customize my mounts" would be the other one.
Most sellers try to make their radiators fit the stock mounts, but many don't succeed. We still sell both stock and 4-row mounts to fit the larger radiators.
The term "4-row" came about because the original 4-core radiators were wider at the tank flange so needed a larger mount. Many of the current 4-row radiators are now of the staggered type, which are narrower and typically will fit the stock mounts. I just installed one of our #5010 Tri-Pass (I prefer to call it the triple bypass;D) radiators, which is a staggered 4-row, and used stock 3-core mounts.
I also have an aluminum one sitting here that is specifically for the EB's, but is so thick that there is no way that even the 4-row mounts will work without cutting and extending them. I think I'll use that in the '71 because it's such a cool looking radiator. But I'll hack up an old set of already modified mounts to make it work.
The typical cheap Chinese radiators are hit or miss. They will almost always fit with one of the mount types without having to hack them up, but you'd have to ask if it fits with a 3 or 4 row style mount.
Our Ron Davis radiators need you to modify the mounts slightly. I know it says "stock" mounts on the site, but unless they've changed the size of the tanks you'll likely be better off with the wider 4-row mounts. Maybe they've changed since the last time I looked, but they're pretty thick at the flange. Big welds and lots of surface area do that to a radiator.

The typical modification involves notching the mounts to fit around the larger profile parts of the tank/core interface.
