Radio antenna removal and replacement

I replaced the stock antenna with a Pep Boys electric antenna. It has been about 20 years ago. I had to make a new threaded nut and possibly the tapered spacer that sits on the fender. The antenna works fine if only I could repair my memory so I could tell you exactly what I did. Haven't had any one break the antenna since. When the radio is off the antenna hides from the kids and the garage door.

I had the new pieces chromed to look stock.

I got it done with a punch and a hammer to unscrew that little nut thing. Pretty easy, just take your time so you don't gouge up your paint. Hardest part is getting the wire through the kick panel.

After 5 years, that Tom's antenna is still shiny on the base, but the mast is a bit faded.
