RAT vs. RAN...3 Speed Trans Question

I have a RAN-R trans that we pulled out of the 67 U14 we are restoring.

We decided to have it gone though since we are rebuilding the engine, T-case, PTO, axles, etc.

The guy we took it to said it needs a 2nd gear and a new reverse shift fork.

He said his parts source did not list these.

I have 8 three speeds on the shelf, many already partially broken down, but all of those are RAT units. I have one RAN, but is is totally assembled with shifter, t-case, crossmember, bellhousing and even a front driveshaft still instaslled. I'd rather use one that is broken down if possible, plus that we give me more chances of having one with good parts.

Are the parts in question interchangeable between RAN and RAT transmissions?

What is the difference between the RAN and RATs?

They would be interchangeable but there is a gear ratio differents between the two. That i know that are different between the two.
If you need any parts for the RAN I have an extra one for parts. PM me to let me know.
