I know this isn't Bronco specific, but you guys all seem to know your stuff (and I'm definitely a newbie just finding his way), so here goes...

Saw the diamond plate interior quarters on Blue Bastard's truck, and I really like the look. Bought a pair for mine, cut out speaker holes, primed and painted...when I installed them, there were a few scrapes around the speaker hole and on my hard top strip. I took the lazy route and gave them a quick burst from the spray can to cover thinking it would look fine, which was the worst thing to do as I've got some dark streaks now (you can see around the speaker hole, as well as a few streaks where I got too close to the quarter panel).

I'd like to touch them up. Question...is it better to just spray over them with a few more coats, or sand those areas down with fine grit prior to re-spraying? Appreciate the input!

I would sand/scuff and then clean with a pre-prep. Masking the correct areas, spraying the proper distance and having a good hand all factor in on how well it comes out.

You can use 3m Gray Scuff Pad (red is heavier grit) and put on a couple more coats. Be careful, putting on to much paint without long enough drying time will cause the paint to wrinkle. It can take non catalyzed paint weeks to cure.

Did you put something like Dyna-Mat on those metal quarter panels?
Speaker baffle boards are not typically made of sheet metal as it will resonate.
I like the look a lot but some Dyna-Mat or the generic equivalent will likely be in your future. Keep us posted.

All good stuff guys, that's why I come here :)

I honestly hadn't considered Dynamat. I've owned the truck for a year, and still have yet to put the hard top on, as I keep it in the garage and only take it out on nice days. That being said, I'm planning to put the top on this winter, so likely a good idea.
