I had to change my axle seal, so i'm going to replace the metal seal that goes between the backing plate and axle tube. I forgot which way the raised lip on the metal seal faces? Does the raised lip face the backing plate or does it face the axle tube?

should the new metal seal have bump on one side and the 90 degree edge on the other? if so the the bump goes toward the brake plate and the 90 degree edge faces the axle tube?

So I got the new axle flange seal that goes between the brake backing plate. It does have both a hump and a little 90 degree bend on the other side ,so what faces out and what faces in?
