Rear Diff Leak?

My rear diff is leaking between the pinion retainer and main housing. From the diagrams I've looked at there appears to be an O-ring and shim in between. Can I just pull the bolts and pinion assembly will come out intact or do I need to disassemble? Never had one apart before.

Yes you can just pull out the whole thing intact. Might just want to check to see if the bolts are tight or not usually that oring doesnt leak. You should be able to get the oring at the local parts store or ford dealer..

You mean something is actually easy for a change? Thanks for quick answer. I'll see if I can do that without anything else going wrong.

Well, that had to be the easiest thing I've done so far. The O-ring was damaged on the bottom, gears look good. Thanks again.
