rear disk conversion shock mount

just swapped the monte carlo front calipers out with the eldorado calipers and the shocks are awfully close to the calipers. the kit instructions show to mount it on the outside of the lower shock mount. this tweeks the bushing alot and then is awfully close to the leaf spring and shackle bolts on that side. thinking to cut the mount off and split the difference, ~.75" inward. then heat and bend the top mount for angle alignment. would it be better to just get the dual mount kit for the rear and then just run shocks only on the front side? then would only have to avoid the e-brake cables with no caliper clearance issues.

This shows the interference. Only misses with shock mounted this way. But will hit outer tube when collapsed or when pads wear out.

Doing it right means moving the shock mount over. The easy way is to bolt it to the outside of the mount.

I cut off the shock mount and moved it over, then welded the mount back on. All the clearance issues were solved. John
