I realize I may be answering my question just by posting this, but I'm tired and could use an extra set of eyes on this.

Either way I try to remove this joint, it is stuck. Do I need to remove the other joint first, or some other order to get it apart? My plan was to work in the outside inward,... Starting with this joint, either way I try to extract it. It is bound and I cannot get it all the way free.

Thank you. Jerry

I am not sure if your supposed to push the cap inside the joint.
Wait for the big boys to respond, that is a good question!

Part of the challenge with those CV’s is they are under spring pressure. They are a pain, I’m spoiled and the driveshaft shop is next door to my office, I virtually quit changing ujoints years ago.

Back to your question. You will have to remove the circled cap to get the joint out. Removing the cap allows the joint to move enough to come out
