rear main seal

how hard is it tp change the rear main seal? from my very very limited knowledge it is a split seal that is supposed to be somewhat easier to change correct? any ideas about the job would be helpful.

"suppose to be" is the key phrase when mine started leaking. come to find out, the last person to rebuild the engine put a single piece main seal in. that means droppin the tranny and t case. this is very common inb modern rebuilding in engines since the 2 piece set up have a bad rep for failing prematurely
