Rear quarter replacement-leave top bolted on?

I will be replacing the rear quarters on my newly purchased 76 Bronc. I have researched on here on how I will do this but was wondering if I should leave the top bolted on for added support and less chance of it tweaking out of place or is it not necessary. My plan was to also leave body on frame as much as possible so things cant shift so easily during the rebuild. I realize I will be taking it off for complete media blasting later. Also still haven't decided on where to get the quarters from. Looking for the best ones out there so any experiences there would be great.
thanks Paul

The rear section is pretty rigid all by itself. You can take if off or leave it, whichever works. I used Toms lower quarter panels and had some trouble with being not square but in all likelihood it was the Bronco as much as the part. No experience with other vendors. Good luck.

Agreed...top on...or off...doesn't matter. When I was replacing mine I used a Dynacorn (which are supposed to be the best on the market) and it didn't line up right...was about a quarter of an inch too short in the rear, so...order your part...and pray it fits!
