Why?

The Gentex mirror uses the standard windshield button.

The button that came with this mirror was slightly larger than normal and had a distinct shape that didn't match what was on my windshield.

I smashed the glass remnants off it with a hammer and then used a dremmel to remove remaining glass and glue.

My old button, I applied a little bit of heat and then used a gasket / putty knife and it popped right off.

Only problem now is I can't get this sucker to program / open the door.

These programming instructions should help. In my case, I had to find the "learn" button on my garage door opener motor as well to get the Homelink paired up with the garage door opener.

It appears that my Chamberlain door opener is the problem.

I can't get it to work with the homelink systems in any of my cars.

Their website says a bridge may be required.

Anyway, love the mirror and back to the regularly scheduled sale thread.
