Ok, I need a little advice. I want to rebuild a c6 that I have. I have never done a c6. I have a few books and a parts manual with exploded views. It really doesn't look that hard to do. Problem is you always wonder what little tricks the pros know that you dont. Things that add performance, ease installs, do's and dont's. Should I try this. Heck the rebuild parts are pretty affordable, compared to what a rebuild costs. Are there any special parts I should have that are good upgrades. The low gear thing I know about but how about servos and valve body stuff?
Any help out there? good links?
Thanks

If youve done a c4 before then you wont have any issues.......some of the later model electronic overdrives are a c6 with an overdrive added also. so depending on your experience the c6 should be fairly straight forward. The only tranny thats more basic is the powerglide. Get a good manual and go for it. (remember inch pounds, not foot pounds) dont know how many people ive seen make that mistake!! If you really feel like making it shift harder the c6 likes it when i cross drill the forwar clutch drum with 1/4 inch holes in the section where the clutches sit. dont get down where the seal seats though. this allows the fluid between the clutches to escape through the drum and not be pressed against it. A basic shift kit will improve your shifting and holding also. anyway i realize i was somewhat vague with my response but if you get into it and need some extra assistance just pm me. good luck bud.

Oh cool a vote of confidence. I went to this site sales@broaderperformance.com and they seem to have a real good 500 hp kit. they also have the upgraded valve body kit and low gear sets. I am going to do it.
