Ragoon or Poppy? Is poppy more of a red/orange? Depending on where and what I read 66's may have come in both these colors but I'm unsure. Also does 71 Regal Red like on MarsChariot show up in other years as different names?

Not sure about Rangoon Red looks to be a nice red color, paint code (ppg 71243), but as for poppy red, calypso coral and competition orange, they are all the same color. They all have the same ppg paint code 60449.

Here is my 1971 in calypso coral

I've been fighting with red paint codes for three weeks. Finally said screw it, its going to be firecracker red. This photo is not the actual color of my truck the sun and the cell phone camera makes it look close to firecracker red.

Justin, are you going to put the molding back on? I'm thinking about leaving it off mine when I repaint. My truck will live with the door inserts and the top off and the molding looks a little out of place with the inserts, and thats one more thing I don't have to buy. BTW, mine came from your area, Dad lived in Disney, Grand Lake. Hope to bring it back some day.

Original candy apple red; however, restoration color is darker. I just had the hood redone and local custom shop did a good job matching color.

Viking Red

My 75 paint code is Viking Red. Has a bit of an orange tint to it.

Todays festivities. Reshot the engine compartment with Firecracker Red. This is the closest I came to a photo that does it justice. Just love it when things go right. Man, cameras and computers do not do reds justice. The actual color is closer to the red you see on Dodge Durangos and Volkswagon Jettas.

Red is a hard color to get a good shot of the actual color. I just love mine. Never thought I would like red so much but I do. It's a "viper red"

Its got a deep sense to the color and shines up great.

I wish the PO had filled the holes and done the proper body work to leave the trim off, but there are gaping holes and they protrude out (probaby due to a PO trying to remove clips, etc). Needless to say, yes, the trim is all in my garage awaiting a buff and reattachment.

Let me know if you make it back to green country.
