remote control side mirror

I have a 1976 Ford Bronco with a left hand factory remote control mirror. If I loosen the screw will that whole head be able to rotate? I'd like to get one for the right side so when I don't have a passenger I can lean over and adjust the mirror without having to get out of the rig. And does anyone know where I can get a factory plastic gasket that goes between the mirror and the door?

The stock driver side remote mirror is not reversible for use on the passenger side. Ford never made an exact matching remote mirror however there are some close ones. 75 or so vintage Granada had a passenger side remote and it had a long controller cable that reached to the center of the dash. That might work for you.

I had a 1976 Mustang II. It had manual right side remote. Long controller cable. Was at the center lower dash. I think a lot of Fords/Mercs/Lincolns in the late 70's had the right side manual remote.

Thank you for all the information. I greatly appreciate it. Does anyone know of any passenger mirrors with short cables?

We had something with the long cables & in dash control. I think it was in a 68 Cougar that had all the bells & whistles. It might have been the 78 Granada. I remember it was convenient to be able to adjust it while sitting in the driver's seat. I think it was a little chrome joystick type control like the early driver's side remotes. Compared to other mirrors at the time it seemed pretty cool.

If you want the control mounted in the passenger door I wonder if you could just loop those longer passenger mirror cables in a big circle inside the door. That is if you can find one.

Thank you for the information - I really appreciate it. That just gave me an idea, what if I used one of the mirrors suggested in the comments above, can I swap out the longer cable for a shorter one? Can that be changed?

I think those use 3 cables. I don't know if they're attached in a way where they could be disconnected.

A quick search brought up this ebay listing for 77-79 Cougar/T-bird passenger remote mirror. It shows the 3 cables, but it's hard to see what it would take to undo the cable ends.

Here's a pair for 75-80 Granadas. Looks like the driver's side has a 90 degree end & the passenger is straight.

Not that those pics would help, since it would be the mirror end that you'd be trying to swap. I wonder if the mirrors are the same, but with different mounting arms. If that's the case, could the arm be swapped? In the pics the Granada arms look a lot heavier than the Cougar arms.

Gave up on the driver mod to work on passenger. Never found a remote passenger. I don't think Ford ever made one for the 60s cars?
