Removing and reinstalling complete floor help

I finally have the time to work on my 72 sport. I want to do a full restore and cut out all the rust. I’ve done a lot of commercial welding and I am profecient in Tig and spot weld gouging with a hypertherm powermax 65. I’m going to cut out both front floorpans because they previously were repaired with non groove steel plates. I am go to remove the floor shifter and reinstall the 3 on tree. Replace the trans floor cover that was cut out for the floor shifter. My back bed has a 16in by 16in section that needs to be cut out. I can afford to get to buy the complete Dynacorn floorpan front and back but I want to remove the floor and salvage as much of the floor I can. Am I better off replacing the complete floor with a new Dynacorn floor or should I keep as much of the original steel.

I always recommend patching original sheet metal whenever possible. If the rest of the floor is as solid as you think then the three areas you are replacing would go a lot easier and they will look good. I would cut out the offending areas before ordering new metal to make sure there are no hidden rust spots. Just don't cut them out to big so the new patch pieces will fit. Ken

I just went through this whole process! I tried to be conservative but it cost me allot of TIME and in the end I replaced the Platform with the complete kit! Very clean, will turn out much nicer than cutting and pasteing. I agree there are parts I could have salvaged and would have worked, but I was dealing with body damage caused by being rear ended and PO's doing very crappy work.
