I've got a trashed driveshaft for another project. I want to use it for mockup. The glue glidecoat on the splines is in rough shape. Took a hammer to beat it apart. I think all the damage (to the splines anyway, the yokes are oblonged, tube dented, all trash) are OK enough. But that blue stuff makes it a beat with hammer to get on and to get off.

Is there a easy (or fairly easy) way to remove that blue spline coating? I'm sure a mix of torch and wire wheel would eventually get it. But was hoping there would be an easier way that someone would know of. Maybe not, but worth asking anyway.
