Removing Window Glass from Lower Track

I'm talking about the track that the regulator attaches to at the bottom of the window. I have new ones, but the old ones (rusted) seem stuck on. I haven't put too much pressure on them for fear of breaking glass.

Any trick to getting these off the glass? Thanks! - jim

I just did mine had the same issue. I soaked the bottom of. The window in hot soapy water then used a thin long flat head screw driver and lightly tapped it between the bottom of the glass and regulator track and it slowly wedged itself off. Set the glass edge wise on oa thick towel of a firm surface then glass is more stable. Take your time and it will separate

i just did the same with my door glass and we have just used a plastic mallet and smacked it off from the side ,on a side note the new channel I installed had only one of the three spot welds holding it together so the 1st time I rolled down the glass it broke off but the vendor stepped right up and sent out a new one :D

What are you all using the hold the glass into the new channels? Gorilla snot stuff perhaps? Double-sided sticky tape? Silicone sealer/glue?
What's worked best?

Or have some of the channels come with new stuff already in them? If so I have not seen that style.

Thanks

Paul

After slamming my door multiple times in frustration, and breaking my glass, this is now a relevant topic. :-(

Heat gun works good. Glass channel rubber is the way to go. Got it from Toms. It's about two inches wide and abit longer than a bronco side window. Cut to length w shears, wrap around the bottom edge of the glass and gently tap the window channel onto the glass with a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer

I used glass channel rubber. warmed it up in hot soapy water, folded on on glass then set on glass and tapped on with small wooden mallet.
