Hello All!!!
I am curious if you have any pointers in avoiding spending $1500 on new seats and simply going to a junk yard or surfing eBay for seats that would fit. Are there any vehicles that seem to work perfectly with fit form and function into an early bronco? I have a '74. Thank you

I got a $20 set of black ones from a JY, they were in a late 80's early 90's convertable Mustang.

I flat decked the dvrs floor height all the way to the far passenger side (3/16 tread plate). So the floor is level all the way across, AND I get a storage area under the passenger seat. Need to make a door for it.

I hammered flat the mount tabs and bolted them in. Sliders even work great.

Last seat pic is out of a 05-09 Mustang. Look the same underneath.

Arm rest from a 99 Ford Ranger, still tilts up and down, when down it rests on the ammo can underneath.

Also got some JY 5.00 bucket seat camo covers to save them.

Nothing cheap just bolts in. But it isn't hard to make or adapt a few brackets. Junkyard seats are the go to seat for getting stuff cheap.

The big thing you have to watch is how thick the seat bottom is. The seats need to sit pretty low. Anything with a thick seat bottom will have you sitting uncomfortably high. Then start hitting up the local junkyards.

These are a great Bronco seat replacement. Get the ones with the low headrest and recovered they will even look the part. I used them on my '65 Mustang w/out headrests and with period-looking vinyl.

just watch how low the seats and the mounting brackets are. Bronco needs very short seats.

Junkyard seats are the way to go. Before you take em out sit in em for a while and make sure they're comfortable for you. For those of us older guys with bad backs that's a big one. I know a few guys that spent a bunch of $$ on new pretty seats they couldn't sit in for more than 15 minutes. They lost they're arse selling em and ended up with junkyard seats for under $100

Fox body Mustang seats too!!! Only had to drill a few holes in the frames to swap out the drivers slider and the passenger side went in easy too. Driver's side had inflatable lumbar that was a big plus for my bad back. Sat low too.

$150 on craigslist I think.

BMW e46 seats, could is what I have, but if you want integrated seatbelts, convertible are nice. Mine were $125 for the pair and $400 to recover. They are power and heated.

I had seats from a mustang, they were OK, but I always felt like I was sitting too high.

I just installed Hummer H3 seats. It took some hacking and welding. But I think they look great. And they are comfortable. Got them at the local junkyard for $100 total.

Still working on putting these 2010 Fusion seats & belts in my 66. I scrapped the fusion electric rails(made it too tall) & bolted the stock Bronco runners with a couple small spacers to the fusion seats, bolts in & slides nice. On the passenger side I used some stock holes on the fusion seats & 1" angle to bolt it down. Still need to make the right front bracket but 2 pieces of angle and a few bolts & it'll be done. Seat Belts bolted to the roll bar mounts at the bottom with brackets of 2" angle iron. I will make some covers for bottom. The shoulder harness bolts to the roll bar where the back piece bolts to the main hoop.

I’m putting in Fusion seats, as well. I made the mounts and all, but everything’s sitting under tarps waiting for a few hundred other things to get done. I’ll post when it gets done.

Thank you so much!!!

Thank you to all for the advise!!! I just got back from my 3rd junk yard and brought home both front seats from a late model Ford Mustang, black leather. 100% ready to go!!! All in $100. They were even already unbolted waiting for me. Cleaned up really nice.

Not sure what year you got but mine are out of a 2007 mustang convertible and I love them! Leather, power and heated with lumbar on the drivers side.
