Replacing the Gaskets and Seals on the T-case

I am replacing the transmission on my bronco and while it is out I want to replace the seals on the T-case because they are leaking. I see that JBG sells a Gasket only kit or a Gasket and Seal kit for the Dana 20. What are the seals for and do you guys think I should replace them, or should I just do the gaskets? I am only really concerned about stopping the leaks.

Thanks

The seals should be for the yokes. They can leak too. When i had mine out and apart I got the gaskets from a local machine shop, they were Fel-Pro and didn't need to be special ordered or anything.

I just rebuilt mine before I put it back in, and I would replace the seals also. You should put the o-rings back behind the washers on the yokes also. Some people say these don't help, but I have found differently. Any time I remove the yokes, I replace those o-rings and I have no leaks. Some folks just fill the cavity in the yoke with silicon and screw it back down...and that seems to work ok also. If you have the case out of the truck, check the end play in both shafts. This will be a good indicator if you are about to loose a bearing. The specification I think is .003-.005 of end play. Even if it is on the truck, you can push it back and fourth by hand and tell if it has a lot more slack than this. Good Luck.
