Im jealous on these nearly rust free rigs. Nothing in my area is remotely that clean. I recently picked up a '70 from the original owner for under a grand but its body is rusted beyond belief. The windshield frame is the only nice peice on it. And befriending the owner definitely helps. He has 2 more I wish I could get for cheap as well.

I grew up in the Rust Belt.

You need to take a trip to the south or southwest, get away from road salt.

I would love to take a trip in both directions lol. I was in NC last summer and saw junkyard vehicles in better shape than some on the road PA (and my driveway)

I have seen the one before lookout since I started snowmobiling over there in 2000. it was still there on my last trip to Bozeman. I will look for it again when I go over in a couple of weeks. I will look for the other one too.

If you can found out who the owner is I generally just write them a letter asking them to give me a call or write me back. Some of the older folks who rarely get out really appreciate opening the mailbox and seeing a letter to them.

There is some nice rust-free iron out here but believe me we are not tripping over early Bronco's. I've been able to get my hands on one (that I could afford) in the ten years I've lived here. If you wanted an old Scout (they are sweet too!) I don't think that would be problematic at all.
