I’m surrounded by Mennonite and Amish families here in St. Mary’s county, Maryland. Between their farm supply businesses, welding shop, motor repair shop, saw mills, garden centers, shed sales and on and on, they have a ton of the local business all tied up. I buy my roasting pigs and butcher hogs from them too.

Keen eye to those of you who immediately recognized the 66 from the front page of the article. It is also an original V8 (I’ve seen it at the shop). Amos is accepting offers on it, could even restore it for you for the right price. It would be awesome to have a restored 66 V8 featured in a national magazine, but a bit out of my pay grade.

I have a long time friend in PA that has always been into VWs and is Amish. He too does paint and body work for a living. He builds motorcycles and Volkswagens. Pretty sure he uses electricity too.
