What wall thickness is good for rock rails? I'm making mine out of (2) 2"x3" rectangular tubes welded together (gives a seam in the middle so tube won't collapse).

1/8", 3/16", or 1/4"?

3/16 minimum.

1/8 will tear all to hell in short order.

I'm running 1/4" on mine. I'll probably put 3/16" wall 2x8 on my wifes.
