Hi,

Does anyone have experience with Rockslide Engineering steps for Early Broncos.

We have their steps on our Jeep. Mostly positive experience.

I'm thinking about putting them on our 1970.

Thanks,

Jeff

1/2 way to everywhere
I've got a set on our FE 2-door and just love them. I wanted a set for the '68 but they didn't make a kit for them at the time. They advised a JK 2DR set and make my own mounts. So I did. With some help we fabricated mounting brackets that attach to the frame and work around all of the other things under the body. They were a little short in the front so extensions were also fab'd up to get them closer to the front fender opening. I mounted a rocker switch overhead to turn them off on the trails.
I believe others have bought and installed the kit from RSE. They might have better information about their kit.
Since I had the wiring in place with the reed switches to actuate the steps, I used the RSE step lights circuits to turn on the interior lights when a door was open. RSE wouldn't answer my specific questions about their controls, so I found a 2-input relay switch to do the heavy work. Downside of this setup is that when the steps are turned off, there isn't any interior lights.
I have a couple pictures of them in my garage.

Hi Bruners4,

That's a great looking Bronco. Beautifully done!

Thanks for pointing me toward the pictures.

Thanks for the advice on the wiring, too. I need to put some more thought into how ours would be set up. I don't have any door switches now.

If I go that route, would you mind if I sent you a PM?

Thanks,

Jeff
