Rust Bullet Opinions

I just used it on the bottom and inside my blasted tub. It's like painting with glue. It gets on everything and never comes off. Gloves, throw away clothing, hat, and air mask a must. It bonds to metal like nothing I've ever seen and when dry it is very hard. I would definatley use it again. I like the silver color because it's makes everything visible underneath vs having a black bottom which might visually hide future rust.

I recently used it on the inside of my tub and the underside of my hood. Overall I was happy with the results but cannot speak of the longevity yet.

I sprayed it with a cheap HF gun and it came out pretty well. I did notice that a few spots that are exposed seem to be yellowing just slightly. I had it sitting out in the sun for just a few days and I was surprised to see that after such a short amount of time. It says it's UV stable and I didn't plan on top coating it since it will all be covered by interior anyway.

It appears to be pretty hard and solvent resistant once cured. The only real complaint that I had was that once you open it that top layer cures inside the paint can (about .5" thick). It also glued the lid to the can just from where the material splashed up on the inside of the lid. I destroyed that can getting the lid off. I transferred the leftover to brand new smaller quart sized cans and it still skinned over really bad. I was careful not to let it splash inside there so at least the lid comes off. I've been into it a few times now and just peel the top layer off and use it again. It does not seem to separate real bad.

I have a few really rusty test pieces sitting outside so I am excited to see what happens this winter. I did zero prep-work to the test pieces just to simulate worst case scenario. I can't get the paint to scrape off so I guess it's on there pretty well. Time will tell. Here's a picture of the final product.

Make sure to use a proper respirator. It's pretty nasty stuff.

I have used both the silver and black, very tough stuff. When I originally purchased the silver I did like WorkerBee painted an unprepped of rusty metal with it. I then threw the piece of metal over in the weeds. That was in the fall of 2012 got the metal out of the weeds in Summer 2013 coating was intact and no rust. I recently used the blackshell on my bumpers turned out really nice. Wouldn't hesitate to use the stuff again.

a trick that MISF came up with for dealing with the lids glued shut issue. Put a piece of "Saranwrap" over the top of the open can and put the lid down on top of it. It won't stick to the saranwrap.

you also need to float the saran wrap on the rust bullet or you will still get the skim of cured rust bullet.

I used it on the underside of my Bronco & did the frame in Black Shell & it seems good. It hasn't been on the road so I can't speak to durability yet.
