Cut! It needs some final trimming and finishing work, but I think I like what I've got..

Anyone need a descent lift gate?

It needs a little work. The rear verticals are open. I'm going to trim them and then weld on a cap. Should lend a little more rigidity as well..

I like it also, but I wonder if it wont just make it hotter, with the sun hitting that metal. Any plans to insulate it in anyway?

I don't think it'll make it hotter, but I'm not a physicist. ;)

Just sitting in it, it's much cooler than with the pre-cut hardtop on. The top obviously does get "egg cookin'" hot though..

Don't have any plans to insulated it.

I think with the family cage, I'd cut off the rear legs and fing a way to attach to the cage for maybe a cleaner look, just a thought.

The original plan was to leave only the top above the drip rail, then section ~12" out of the top and just have it attach to the windshield frame and top of the cage. Just like "Burnie" earlier in this thread.. That's where I was headed and it may still happen. While I was cutting the wife said she liked the way it looked, so I threw it on the Bronco to see how it looked and I kinda like it.

I'm going to clean up the "rear legs" this weekend. Planning on cleaning up the cuts and welding in some 1" tube to clean it up.. It's pretty rough looking at the moment.
