If I were to ever run a hardtop permanently that would be my plan as well. I would also do something to get the side windows out to open up that area as well for the safari look! ;D
The original plan was to leave only the top above the drip rail, then section ~12" out of the top and just have it attach to the windshield frame and top of the cage. Just like "Burnie" earlier in this thread.. That's where I was headed and it may still happen. While I was cutting the wife said she liked the way it looked, so I threw it on the Bronco to see how it looked and I kinda like it.
I'm going to clean up the "rear legs" this weekend. Planning on cleaning up the cuts and welding in some 1" tube to clean it up.. It's pretty rough looking at the moment.
