Saginaw-Hydroboost brackets?

I read on this forum quite extensively a while back, but haven't been here in a while. Anyway, I was at the salvage yard today and made a nice discovery. A 70s Lincoln with a complete hydroboost setup! I was reading back through some old threads trying to find an answer to this but couldn't, so now I'm posting. The Lincoln has a big block, but I can't find anything as to whether the big block Saginaw dual return pump's brackets will bolt up to a smallblock. If they have to come from a smallblock, what can I source them from? My steed is a 1973 302 automatic and has power steering with the later model plastic reservoir. Thanks in advance.

You want to steal the pump. The cores are getting hard to find and many of the parts stores are doing rebuild only on it. The brackets are bronco specific and be ready to to a little cutting or grinding to make te reservoir fit the bracket. Also when you order the bracket make sure to get the spacers so the pump mounts flat.

Use the junk yard pump and get a mounting bracket from one of the EB parts houses. Trying to make the brackets from the Lincoln (or any other vehicle) is more hassle than it's worth. Spend the $60 for one made for an EB.

Awesome, that's what I'll do then. I'll check back later when I'm ready to do the install for how much modification the hydroboost will require. Thanks!

If your truck already has the stock power steering pump setup on it, you can re-use the aluminum bracket that holds the pump on the Lincoln with a little bit of modification.

Jon Hanna wrote it up years ago as one of the first tech articles on this site:

http://classicbroncos.com/tech/saginaw-power-steering-pump-upgrade

I did it years ago when I still had v-belts on my rig.

Fairly certain the 460 aluminum bracket is the same one used on the 351M referenced in the article.

Went this past Monday and got the pump. All the bracketry was steel on that behemoth. The bracket between the pulley and pump was/is triangle shaped and has a stud on it that fit into a groove on another bracket used to tension the belt. Just had to remove 3 bolts and the nut off that stud, lift it up and slide it out. Was going to try to save the hoses, but the high side was rusted through, so I just cut it and the 2 returns. Got it, and a gas cap for the wife's excursion for $17.50. I also found another rare gem while perusing the lot. A 1984 Lincoln Continental with hydroboost (which I may get on my next trip) and of all things a BMW 2.4 turbo diesel. I checked it out on wikipedia when I got home and it appears that they only made about 1500 of them. 4 wheel discs but it has the 8.8 rear end. I thought about pulling the 8.8 to try to resell to somebody in the Mustang crowd.
