HIJACKED....

Did the pre-run today, great time with Pedestrian. We trimmed alot of brush and branches, picked up 5 bags of trash, an air mattress (uckkkk) died floatee and a burnt up easy-up shade. Chilled in the water awhile ate lunch and then went to the point to jump into the deeper water...Very, very relaxing, ready for next weekend. Hope to get a good group together. ACB meeting tomorrow...See ya when I see ya...

Bill

Sorry. Too cool of a boat not to ask about.

So if I show up out there Saturday evening, say just before dark, will anyone still be there?

How do I get there from 4 peaks road? Head out past the corrals and just keep going SW?

I'm trying to escape work early Sat but it really depends on the workload and if the SHTF or not.

Dan, the turnoff for the coves is before you get to the corrals. Head down the corral road roughly a mile there will be a couple of trails that head off to the right/ south. One of them will be marked with a cairn of rocks, but either one of them should get you to the fence line. Follow the fence line road till you find a cattle guard where you can cross to the south side of the fence. proceed east toward the lake along the fence till you come to a crushed and burned Ford Ranger turn right/ south, and follow the trail. If you stay on that trail, you will eventually run directly into the lake, follow the trails along the shore they will lead straight to us at cove 4. Hope to see you there.

Great job putting this run togther. It was a great turn out. Trenton is still having a great time telling everyone how he jumped off cliff into the lake yesterday.

Bill and Krut thank you for all the help with the D44 and the locker last week. Both are working great.

I had to work Saturday so I showed up late, got to the turn off for 4 peaks road about 6pm. I knew which general direction I needed to go and was armed with a set of directions posted by Pedestrian so off I went.
Drove right to the lake with no issues, even got there before it got dark. Here are a few pics I took along the way.

Here's a shot of the lake from a few miles out.

At the shoreline.

That was the easy part. On the way out it seems I took every wrong turn and dead end trail I possibly could for the next 4 hours. Finally ran into the group of Bronco's (yjzonie, pedestrian and 2 others I didn't recognize) coming back from wheelin who pointed me in the right direction.

Had a good time, the weather really cooled off that night and there was a nice breeze to boot.

Few more pictures and the whole slide show:

Thanks for the cool pics! I've been to the Lake over 20 years ago and enjoyed seeing the pics from a different point of view. (Was just in the Marina as I didn't drive the Bronco down there.) Didn't get to enjoy the lake either as it was Feb or Mar and I think the water was pretty cold. Of course maybe it's always cold being from the mountains and is pretty deep?

I also noticed the grayish Bronco with the vented hood bubble. Is that sans grille or just highly modified?

He has yet to put his grill back on, so to answer your ? yes sans grill...

Yes it was great, and the water in the lake is still quite cool, but awesome on a hot day...
