I got lucky and responded to a Craigslist Ad and picked up a disk 44 set up complete with Warm premium hubs for 350.00. For an additional 150.00 I got a lot more parts!
After tearing the axle apart tonight I found that it had newer beefed up axle shafts and what looks like a limited slip setup. I was told that it was a 4.10 setup which is what I wanted but am trying to verify.

The tag on diff. cover had: 4.09 D4TA-AFA 603471-7

The ring gear had: 4 18 74DANA 18520 B3R34 45-11 and a large 470 on it.

Does this sound correct?

Nice job crewdg.
I'd say yes, from the numbers it sounds like you have the 4.09 setup out of a '74. The tag number though does not look like it had a limited slip from the factory (no L or LS anywhere near the numbers) but there could be other codes that give you more accurate info. To me it does not look like a Limited Slip though.
If that 603471-7 number is the BOM from the axle production, you can cruise through mrn's charts and see if yours is listed there.

Those are 4.09/4.10 gears. The 45-11 is the tooth count of the ring gear and pinion respectively. Gear ratio 45 divided by 11 = 4.09.

If someone put the time in to add stronger axles and possibly a limited slip, it wouldn't surprise me that they would have added factory disk brakes.

Either way, you got a good deal!
