Is there a better way when you cut the hole in the dash than using that flimsy mount or sleeve that you bend the tabs to hold it in the dash? It just does not look like bending those tabs would secure the metal sleeve to the dash very well.... Any ideas?
Thanks

Worked well on mine for the last 15 years or so. Usually your also supposed to connect a bracket off the rear of the stereo that helps hold it. I didnt use it and havent had any issues. That bracket also enables the stereo to be removed a little more easily.

I've changed stereos a few times, but stuck with the same brand, and kept the original sleeve that I put in about 10 years ago. Never had a problem. bend the tabs tight and it will be fine.

Use a support bracket on the back of the stereo, it will be just fine.

Is the sleeve everyone using very thin metal. Does it have tabs you bend to hold it in? The one I have is very loose when you put it in.

Thanks for you help.
