Shift Linkage Problem??

Hi once again. I'm having shifting problems with my Bronco now. Everything was working just fine but when I went to move it last night, I could not get it to come out of reverse. THe shifter will move as if it's being shifted, but apparently is somehow disconnected from the shift rods because it just stays in reverse. I was able to crawl under and move one of the rods to pop it into first and get it back in the garage, but then tried shifting back into reverse and no luck. It's a 3 speed on the column shifter. Any ideas what I should look for this afternoon when I try to troubleshoot it? It was too dark last night to see much of anything, and I didn't have a good light to work with. Thanks for any help.

All is well with the Bronco Shift linkage. It turns out a clip that holds the rod to the Steering column shifter fell off, and the rod became disconnected. I don't have the right sized clip, so I rigged it with a paper clip until I can get to the hardware store. So far it's working just fine!!!
