Shock install question

On the front install, do you guys use the shock side bumper? It seems that it will limit an additional 1" compression travel

Do you mean the shock bushings in the photo?
If so, yes, you want both of those.

If rubber you want to tighten them until the bushings are tight. I usually tighten them until the bushings start to compress abit and are somewhat inline with the cup washer.

If poly just snug them down good.

Tighten the nut until the bushing smooshes out to the same diameter as the washer. What is pictured is way too loose.
