Shopping for headers

I am shopping for some new headers and just wanted to see if anyone had major likes or dislikes about any. I was kinda eyeing toms stainless long tubes but am kinda worried about clearance. I read the note on their site that they won't work with GT40P heads and may have issues with aftermarket heads. I am currently running aluminum trick flow heads on my 302 so I'm not sure how different they are vs. a stock head.

"P" heads require a certain header to fit. these heads are found on the Ford Explorer 5.0.

Most, if not all aftermarket heads are the standard/stock bolt pattern, including the Trick Flow.

Longtube headers are great for performance and dual exhaust. I prefer a 3/4 length header (Hooker 6909) for single outlet exhaust because you have more room for the driver's side to cross over.

If designed for the Bronco, they should fit with minimal issues. I don't know of any Long Tube Headers that drop right in without raising the motor at least on the driver's side.

Trick flows wont have any issues. As for headers I'd recommend ceramic/thermo coated ones it helps reduce engine bay heat.
As for clearance issues you realy shouldnt have any. Usually the only issues you hear about are with older duff headers and long arm/full width swaps.

Check out the sanderson gt40p headers. That is what I'm going to run on my explorer.

Whichever brand you get spend the extra $ for the ball and socket collectors. They are best thing to happen to headers since dual exhaust.

Just bought hooker headers....fit great but did not come with collectors

It's better not to use the collectors anyway. Just have the muffler shop weld flanges onto the pipes. One less place to leak looks cleaner, and it's cheaper. You're gonna love those headers.

The Wild horse shortys work great. Truly bolt on. Also their header enhancement kit is well worh the money.
