Junkyard shopping list

Hopefully in the coming days I plan to go to a local junkyard that I haven't been to in a while. There are a lot of older vehicles in it and he has lots of Fords from the 60s through the 90s but of course he has other makes as well. I'm trying to put together a list of what I could possibly use for my 1972 Bronco build.

I'm currently leaning towards a 351W and 6R80 combination and do a 2.5" suspension lift and a 1" body lift. I'm going to have to get a new tub so I'm mostly in a planning and parts acquisition stage right now.

I've read about people using the Chevy Astro van hydroboost brake booster, and some of the various master cylinder offerings from GM. I might find one of those there but I'm probably more likely to find something from a Super Duty or other Ford since that is his specialty.

Looking mostly for the front discs, power steering, steering gear and brake booster. Not opposed to doing a vacuum booster either if it can be made to fit in. I'd prefer not to have to use an angled bracket though, just for aesthetic purposes. Also, is there any other goodies I should be on the lookout for?

Here's some stuff I know works great from the junk yard:

Astovan Hydroboost is great

Explorer 5.0 front dress for serpentine system

Ford Torus electric can with Volvo controller

GT40 3bar heads

Intermittent wiper switch from 90's F150.

A tilt column from an older Ford would be a great find.

4x4x2 box, you would need both boxes.

Knuckles out on 78-79 Bronco, if you want the Ford front discs.
https://classicbroncos.com/tech/front-disc-brake-conversion-using-all-ford-parts

Knuckles out from a 76' -79' F150 are the same as the 78'-79' Bronco parts, there's also a few odd ball super cab 4x4 F150's from the late 70's that will also work. If you see a 68' - 74' Ford van they share a lot of exterior lamps as the early Bronco's. Disc Brakes from a 95' - 2001' Ford Explorer are also a good upgrade for the 9" rear. Rear wiper arms from Jeep Cherokee's are a good upgrade over the stock wiper arms also.

Awesome info! I should definitely be able to find some of this stuff. The rear disc brakes from an Explorer is not one I would've expected but I'll keep an eye out.

The complete 8.8 is actually a decent candidate for a swap, you can buy axle for them now with a 5x5.5" bolt pattern, re-drill the rotors and you have a Bronco rear end they can be found with 4.10 gears and a LS rear end.

I went yesterday, got a late start and didn't have a ton of time to spend. I got a steering box from a 78-79 Bronco and one from an '87ish Ranger for the 4x4x2 conversion. Also got a GMC van hydroboost.

I'm not sure what I want to do on the rear for brakes just yet. Up until I found out the explorer swap would work, I was thinking about sticking with the drums out back. I'm for sure going to keep the 9" rear though. I've already got 4.57 gears.

Quite a few were already gone. When I finally found one, I grabbed it. I'm thinking I messed up on the hydroboost maybe. I got one from a GMC 2500 van and I'm thinking it might be too big.
