Shortening my auto column

I’m contemplating shortening my auto column by cutting the spot welds on the bracket and pushing it forward 2-3.5” inches. I’ve taken some pictures and my biggest concern is the shift arm linkage coming into contact w/ my headers. I’m not physically able to look at it being in a wheelchair so I’m relying on the photos my dad took for me. I know I have to shorten my lower steering shaft and extend the linkage for it to work. The photo w/ out my booster bracket looks like there’s plenty of room but these newer pictures make it look tighter. Just wondering what your thoughts are?
