Sicily Island, La - Labor Day Ride

La 4x4 is having a ride at Catahoula Recreation Park in central La. Louisiana rock crawling at its best. I'll be heading up Saturday after work to ride sunday and monday. I figure it'll get my blood pumping for OCBR. Anyone else interested??

Hi Jack My mom Cathy Hopper Mclemore lives in Gilbert and was born in Wisner (Franklin Parish). My Grandfather (Pap) Jess Gordy had a farm next to 2 mile in.

I went there a couple of months ago. It's really changed in the year since I've been there. Trails were much tougher. I may go watch the club challenge at the end of sept

I haven't made it out there yet. Rides haven't fallen on the right weekends (or they did but no one else showed, but I won't go there) They say it is getting a bit dug out and La4x4 is planning a maintenance weekend in mid Sept to do some much needed work there.

I've never been there when it's super wet, but I've been told by people that live close, to not go if it has rained in the last couple days.. Place gets slick!

Yeah, that is what they say. So much so that the first time I tried to go with the club (or at least some members that were in the club) the whole group no-showed because of rained the week before. Even after calling the land owner who said it was ok they still no-showed. I was a bit PO'd to say the least... Hopefully that wont happen this time, but at least there's OCBR later in the month where there will be people I can count on!;D

Gettin my s**t back together to make this ride. It'll be my shakedown before OCBR.

Yeah. With the hurricane coming people are starting to back out. May be busy with cleanup instead. We'll see soon enough.
