...I think. Are you supposed to put sealant around the thermostat housing to intake interface. I didn’t and mine is leaking. Not sure if it’s a sealant issue or something else. Thx.

Make sure that the thermostat didn't fall down between the gasket and the thermostat housing. Put a thin coat of silly cone on the housing and then put the thermostat in place add silly cone on the gasket and let it set up. After is sets up then put a coat on the exposed side of the gasket and on the housing and bolt it up. Clean off any ooozy silly cone. If you have fumbley fingers you can take a rubber band and fold it inside the bail of the thermostat and pull it through the neck of the thermostat housing and put a stick through the ends of the rubber band and it will hold it in place as you goop up both side of the gasket and bolt it in place. just remember to remove stick and rubber band once you get it all bolted up.

Hi, you know you have to do it again, so install it as Rusty truck said and you should be good. Let the thermostat and gasket set up and dry before putting it in the intake manifold. Make sure the mating surfaces are spot less clean. Make sure the thermostat is sitting in the groove in the housing. Also many aftermarket chrome thermostat housing are known to leak, so I would stay with a factory housing. Good luck

Gave up on a chrome housing 20 years ago.
Got an "oem looking" one from BC and noticed right away that the BC housing had a way wider gasket surface area. Not sure why My chrome one has such a thin/narrow gasket surface other than it was cheap.
OEM housing from BC hasn't leaked for 20 years now.
