Single DIN

I am working on a spare dash that had a hole hacked in it for an 80's aftermarket radio.

I am planning to put in a single DIN radio.

What size hole should I make? Online I found 2x7 and 2 1/8 x 7 1/8. Do they vary in size or is the radio chassis 2x7?

Any tips for cutting a clean rectangle?

When you go to your local Walllyworld and get the single din, I think it comes with a template. If not you can make a template pretty easy out of the plastic din
