Hey folks,

I’m getting close to putting the top on and making some decisions about the windshield frame.

Once the top is on and the windshield frame is fixed upright? Is it possible to snake wires through it? If not, do I need to do it now with the top off while I can fold the frame down?

I’m still not sure if I am going to run a stock type antenna on the fender or a Toyota/Isuzu metra type on the windshield frame. I’m concerned that if I do and need to replace the antenna I will have to pull the top to replace the antenna.

I also may want to run a rear view mirror with a compass in it but don’t
Want to commit to that path...and running wires..right now.

Thanks everyone!!

Put a wire in now so you have a pull line if you need to later. When I put my wiring in the in the frame for the wipers I pulled an extra for later.

I ran my wiper wires with the windshield upright. No hardtop but probably not any more difficult. I tied a small 1/4” or so nut to a piece of string, put it in the top hole and pushed it down the side. I used a small telescoping magnet to grab the nut and pull it out the bottom.

I tied and taped the wires to the end of the string that made the most sense ( I think I fed it from the top), put some lube on the wires and pretty soon thereafter had successfully pulled them through.

Just like Steve, when I pull wires through places like this I almost always attach an additional piece of string to the wires and tie it off, leaving some length hanging on both ends so that should I need to pull something else through later, it will be easier.
