Interesting design - clever. Hopefully you have enough vertical separation in the case of it needing to be used.

I'm Trying to learn something Kyle. What do you mean " enough Vertical separation"? Are you talking about the tie in at the frame? If so Yes I would of liked to have more distance between the attaching points. Lower would of been better but I was getting close to the radius arm.

You got it ;) It took me awhile to even see that you had an upper link, I was totally confused on how that would even work, but I took a closer look and realized you built a triangle. That is very slick!

I really need a roll cage, lol.

I really like how the front vertical bars go through the dash. Whenever I get to building a cage I'm gonna do mine the same way.

*EDIT* Do you think with the cage being solid mounted on the frame and the body being not solid mounted on the frame is gonna cause any issues?

bax, awesome cage, I like how you attached the front part of the cage. I've seen that done on some race car cages.

So far there have been no issues. The owner and I talk often and he has not noticed any twisting affect. But with that said I really feel that with the body ( kick panels) being sandwiched by the steel plate, that pretty much solid mounts the body in that area. I hope thats a good thing.

Personally I thought it was pretty sound, its pretty much tube down the inside that is welded to a plate that then transfers to the outside where you made that box (which is pretty much just a square tube). The plates really just sandwich the two tubes (inside round and outside box) together. I would be confident with it in a roll over, the B pillar does most the work in a roll over anyways.

great workmanship!

Funny how when you show everybody a completed idea they just love it and comment about it so positively......but when your in the design stages its a stupid, unsafe, irresponsible idea. But that's how the world works.....resist change.

Not always the case. Many people are visual. They have to see it done before they understand it. Some can picture the idea in their head and others need to see a drawing before they understand the idea. yes we all are quick to have our opinions. They may come off as negative or they really are negative. It happens, however if you like it and believe in the design, it's all good. Even if it's not.
