I'm looking at getting a soft top this year (rampage) and its not clear to me if a windshield brace like the WH ones below will still fit/work with a soft top. Ya'll with soft tops, do you run any bracing between your cage and windshield when the top is off and can you keep these braces on when the soft top is installed?

you need the braces! without them there is nothing to hold your windshield forward against the wind except your hood hinge and maybe a strip of rubber between the hinges. the softop will specify a number between the top of the windshield frame and the top of the tailgate......you adjust your windshield braces to that number.

As they said, they work with no top or with a soft top. Even when removing the soft top you usually leave the riser in place on the windshield frame, so no need to unbolt the braces to work with the soft top.

The only thing that is absolutely required is a front cage to bolt them to.

I built my own windshield braces, and made these brackets to attach the braces to the windshield frame using the riser bolt holes. Still need to shorten the bolts down a bit!

I just welded a pice of 1" steel to my front cage tubes. it just bent out to pick up a top windshield frame hole on each side. at one time I used a piece of muffler tubing split down and a section made into a strap to hold the windshield and then just used on the tube curve with a hose clamp to the cage. it doesnt need to be too sophisticated or expensive especially if you have a front cage to attach to.

You should be fine with those braces. I made my own out of dom tubing and it clears with no problem.
