I bought this Bronco a couple of months ago in Arkansas. I wanted a 77 for a long time and found this one in Arkansas. I drove over and looked at it in person. It had some problems with the steering and rear gears, both of which I have fixed.
What I know:
Starts and runs great. The engine is a 302, It appears to have a new radiator, Holly carb and C4 transmission. Prior owner stated the engine is rebuilt with about 5,000 miles, rebuilt C4 transmission and rebuilt D20. New ceramic headers with dual exhausts behind the wheels. When I got it the front and rear diffs did not match gear ratios and the rear 9" was making noise. I rebuilt the rear diff with a Detroit Locker and 4:10 Richmond gears to match the front ratio, new passenger axle shaft, new bearings both sides, and new emergency brake cables.
The front steering was screwed up, it had a problem with turning radius and bump steer. I installed a new adjustable track bar, and new 3 way adjustable tie rod steering linkages and got the demons out of it. It now drives straight with no bad habits.
It has a 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 inch lift kit, looks like extended springs, rear add a leafs, poly bushings, and fabricated radius arm bracket extension.
I've been working on it and have everything working to pass a Texas vehicle inspection.
The body and paint is original and straight. The rocker panels are rusted and the floors have some rust, a previous owner coated the rust areas with a light coat of bondo and paint, which seems to have stopped the rust. For a full restoration it would need floor pans replaced. If I keep it, i'm going to leave the floors alone, do some very light patching, clean up the old paint and putty and scale and have it Rhino Lined. The underneath cross members and supports are solid. The kick panels, firewall, cowling, door posts and striker posts and rear quarter seams are solid too. It has no front bumper on it, but it comes with a front winch bumper with a Ramsey electric winch. I don't know if it works, it was part of the package. It also has a matching rear seat and a rear spare tire carrier not shown in the pics.
It has 33x10.5x15 BFG tires.
The halfcab is a new fiberglass top, the bulkhead is aftermarket.
It has a complete air conditioner system, but I haven't yet tried to make it work.
So I got the Bronco, got it in shape this far but once again with my job i'm so time constrained that keeping up a Bronco is going to be a problem for me. Plus i'm only 205 miles from the coast, so this is keeping me from some good fishing. This is a solid, mechanically sound 77 model that needs nothing. This price is a break even price for me so it's firm. I have a good trailer, and MIGHT be able to work with the new owner to deliver, if it's not too far. I won't assume delivery costs but could possibly meet somewhere, depending on where its going. PM me for more info.
