With the size of todays off road tires and their weight, who has the very best rack and what mount? I have given thought to building a new rear bumper and a rack system but I hate trying to re-invent the wheel.

The best spot I found for my spare is in the garage! That way when you need to change a tire you can grab the floor jack and 4 way lug wrench along with the tire.

I've had a Duffs for about 17 to 18 years now with no issues, I did change out the spin on type lock down to an automatic pull pin shortly after buying it. I don't even think they make em with the spin on bolt anymore though...
