Stainless/ Steel Fuel & Brake line Kit question

I'm currently in the process of removing the body from the frame ( first time) , doing a 2000 Explorer swap with 4R70W, Bronco Hut shorty headers and ( hopefully) Atlas II if budget allows - just so you know what my clearances are. I am going to use the Stainless Wild Horses tank with in tank pump and I wanted to see which hardline kits you all have good experience with? id like somewhat close to stock configuration in Kit form. I've looked at BC's hard line and Wild horses ( braided fuel line/ Hard brake line) various kits, what do you all recommend? Fit and finish, quality etc.. Still looking at the other vendors as well. sorry should have posted in Bronco Chat forum, my apologies.

Nah, it's probably "technical" enough of a question to go here too. Either location would have been legit I say.

The BC ones are well thought of by most users. Steel all the way and usually well laid out. Maybe a couple of real fitment issues over the years, but with most having only minor tweaking to do.
And I bet most of that tweaking comes about when we build from scratch and something else is in the way of a pre-made line. Whether BC's or someone else's.
Or maybe we don't like the precise location of a bend or termination, where other users think it's perfect for their Bronco.
A gas tank that's laid out differently from what a kit was originally designed for is another possible tweak-waiting-to-happen during an install.
In other words, your results may vary, but the overall quality is very nice.

Flexible stainless braided line is, well... More flexible! I admit I did not think I'd like it as much, but after doing a couple of Broncos in it I'm a huge fan now. I think I still prefer custom bent steel (doing it myself) but man, you can't argue with how easy it is to route them in general, make a quick change of routing when something ends up being in the way, and just general cool looks.
Once it's done and you've used line clamps all along the length (and not zip-ties!), it actually looks very professional as well. No complaints at all.

I'm not familiar with any vendor kits other than BC's involving hard lines. I've bent my own, used the factory plastic lines in conjunction with some metal tube and rubber hose additions, used the braided stainless, and each one has merits.
I would never run plain rubber hose the whole way, but it's not because it looks cheap. It really does not look bad to me when done neatly, but it just doesn't last! Probably a lot of modern hose of questionable quality would not last more than a couple of years.
And I definitely don't want to re-do it even every ten years, much less two.
If I never have to do it again, that's what I'd want.

So far the braided Broncos I did are still on their first setup and one is about 15 years old now. The teflon liners and stainless outers seem to hold up well. No leaks and still looks amazing.
Very hot-roddy I suppose, but I like it.

I used the BC stainless kit and hangers, and really like the clean look. I did have to tweak it to work with my set up but not bad at all. My bronco is carbureted ,so I don't have a return line, but the clamps are set up for both feed and return, plus I have my brake line clamped with the gas lines. https://bcbroncos.com/shop/fuel/fue...-line-frame-mount-clamp-kit-for-early-bronco/ and https://bcbroncos.com/shop/fuel/efi...only-rear-inlet-1-tank-for-early-ford-bronco/ Here's how my set up looks.

I ran hand bent steel lines on top of the frame and connected at the ends with AN fittings. Use fuel line that has Teflon inside and fittings from the same vendor as they are not all the same. I think I used aeroquip for the power steering because they had specific fittings I needed.

I used straight lengths of tubing not from a roll. I think I only had to use one union. It was not at all difficult to make the custom bends

Great info guys and thanks for the pictures, I really appreciate it!
!! My year Explorer set up is return less and I am not going to use the aux tank after all, I like both looks, the braided ones I've seen looks trick. How much larger in outside diameter are the braided lines though? I like the idea of running them on the top of the frame but I had a hell of a time getting my wiring harness out of the body mount area and getting a hold of that nut for the body bolt. My buddy helped install the Ron Francis harness and ran the wires there, and i have since removed that section for the frame off.

Hank Jr did you run your lines around or through the mounts?

through the mounts. i have the WH integrated 1 inch body lift. i got a shorter bolt for the mount behind the drivers seat to clear the lines. i found that a box end wrench with tape over the opening would hold the nut and did not require getting fingers in there.

You didn't mention which fuel filter you running, and are you staying -AN?
Also are you running single exhaust, or do you plan to run an exhaust pipe thru your Atlas?

I'm not a fan of any of the hardline kits. Build your own.

I used BC kit with a tee and another transfer pump to transfer the fuel from my auto tank back to 23 gal bc tank. Flip the fuel guage selector and it transfers. The only issue I've had is a vacuum gets created in the line and it siphons the small tank to the large tank. I plan on running it through the tank selector under the drivers to stop that.
