Stainless windshield hinge

Anybody use a stainless hinge and not paint it? How is it holding up? I heard the stainless was not very good quality.

I have one that I never painted that I bought back in the late 1990's. I use my Bronco on the beach for surf fishing and even with all the salt spray it looks just as good as it did on day 1.
