Help guys!!!! Truck wont start changed solenoid lights came on tried to start no power inside truck and truck trys to start it self with key out of the ignition. Had to unhook battery. if I change the solenoid I get power back in cab but as soon as I try to start it then it wont stop trying to start and power goes out inside truck. Help am thinking ground problem.

What wires do you have connected to what at the solenoid? There is a large battery terminal, large starter terminal, small "S" post, and a small "I" post.

They are hooked up the same way they have been hooked up for the last 20 years I have had it. It just started this out of the blue.
I can take a picture if it would help.

Did you say you changed the solenoid?

Its sounds like its wired wrong and you have power directly to the starter from the battery.

A picture of your solenoid would help.
