I have a 68 with a stock 289 and just converted to a Crane XRI to get rid of the points. What should I set the timing to? Thanks for the help

Stock would start at about 6 degrees before top dead center. If you want better performance most engines will tolerate more initial timing. 12 to 14 degrees will give you a good seat in the pants kick as long as you don't ping. I run 14 degrees on California gas. Start a 6 and work you way up a little at a time as long as you don't get engine pink or hard starting issues.
