You might see if you can face the opening end down too bteutsch. It's able to keep more moisture and debris out of the business end that way, and theoretically at least, should project the sound more effectively out the bottom of the compartment and on to the street.

Stock location is on the driver side up toward the headlight in the engine compartment. I can get you a pic when I get home around 6:30 if you need it.

Oh wait...the Kings are on tonight. It will need to be during break!!

My '77 was on the core support pointed up. Under ideal conditions, people in front of me could hardly hear it. After driving through deep puddles-water it filled with water and no one could hear it. I put a pair of Cadillac horns (high-low) in the same position pointed down and now they are heard. I grew up in Chicago and learned Caddy horns were loud and got used a lot.

Thanks Paul, I'll check and see if I can rotate it. My factory horn locked up, the one in the picture is a lo tone ford horn I got from an 80's ford pickup at the junk yard. I don't drive much in the rain, but hey if it makes it last longer I'll give it a try. Here's a new pic at The Lonestar Early Bronco Roundup.

Yes, but it was either pretty rare, or one of those things that got into the wiring diagrams and never made it to the production line.
I have seen them however, but I could probably count only two or three in the last 40 years and no way to verify if they were original or added by the dealer or owner.

Nothing wrong with adding one however, and I've done it to several trucks over the years. Way better than a wimpy stock single!
