My long lost 76 Bronco had these locking gas caps.
My dad said they were an option when he bought the Bronco new.
They seem to be rare as I have not seen them in any of the thousands of bronco photos I have collected.
I'm trying to trick out my new 73 Bronco to look like my old 76 did.
I managed to find a couple of these on ebay but they don't fit. The diameter is right but I can't seem to push it in far enough to lock.
Does anyone have any experience with these? Did the filler neck change between 73 and 76?
Does anyone out there have these gas caps? And if so, did you also buy your green Bronco in southern Illinois some time around 1997? You'll know it's the right one if the floorboards are repaired with random scrap metal and the passenger door post is held together with the back from a metal office chair.
