Stock steel wheel question-tire size

Does anyone have an idea of what the widest tire you can (should) put on a factory bronco rim.

5 or 5 1/2" rim seems too narrow for a 10.5" tire.

Ill ask this another way:

How do you get stock hubcaps on steel wheels with tires 10.5" wide...without tires looking like balloons?

Thanks in advance.

I have BFG KM3's 31X10.50 on stock wheels. They don't balloon out much at all and no problems with the hub caps Go to my garage under suspension for pics.

33/10.5/15
Easy fit
That's what I'm running too...
Super sticky tires! Seriously, my first upside down pic! Not sure how to fix that!
If I can find a pic I also had one with 33/12.5/15s on stock rims with cut fenders. I liked the look.

Found it...33/12.5/15s
And if you do some digging around on the internet you can find one running 35/12.5/15s with about 5.5" of lift. I personally think it looks great.

Is that red bronco the one with the 2.5" spring lift/ 1" body lift? Just curious as thats the direction I'm 90% set on

Hi, as mentioned, a lot of guys run the 31x10.5 tire on the stock rim. I have done it for a long time with no problems.
There are tire installers who will tell you how dangerous it could be and will not mount them but that is just a CYA policy.
Good luck

That's correct. I also moved the axle back one inch. Otherwise when it was stuffed the front of the rear tires we're rubbing on the front of the rear opening.
